It
was our intramurals, I belong to SSC group. My event is Tennis. In that day, I
wait and also my teammates the whole morning if there are opponents but no one
come. So we decided to watch other sports and so we went to the basketball
court.
When
we’re in the court, the basketball players invited me to play because I’m very
tall and they need me but I told them that I am not good in basketball and they
told me that only my role is to rebound and no regret after the game.
They’re lucky I’m wearing shoes so they gave our jersey
and I have no choice and I’m free in that time so I play with them. They told
me that our first game is the defending champion so we have to win because it
is our last year in high school.
After few minutes the game started. I am one of the first
five players and my position is center. Our defense are good, they can’t easily
score. I always got the rebound and when it comes to offense my only role is to
get the offensive rebound.
We always take the lead because my teammates are good in
shooting so we easily score and our lead is always 2-4 until the halftime then
the bad news is we must play the whole game because our subs are not good in
basketball.
In the middle of the second half, they take their first
lead of the game and we almost out of stamina and so request timeout. My
teammate told me that I will take care of my fouls because it’s already 3 out
of 5 also they need me the rest of the game.
After the timeout, we started to be aggressive and in
last 2 minutes the score is tied and they request timeout. The crowed is on
their feet. In our last possession we score and so we lead by 2 then they
request their last time out.
The remaining time is 22 seconds and shot clock is turned
off and in the last possession it is in the opponent. There wasting the time
dribbling the ball and they try to beat the buzzer but the ball did not shot to
the basket.
We
win the game! We beat the defending champion. We’re very happy because it is
now easy to win beat the remaining teams. They’re right, I have no regret and I
enjoy the whole game.
Then I decided to play until the championship game comes.
My teammates are very happy. And in the next games we show no mercy to them and
when the championship game comes we play just like in the first game with our
best then we’ve won our championship title for the first time.
